Ubiquiti Dream Machine Beast – wired network router for businesses
Extensive business environments require unified control over connectivity, access and security. A model from the UniFi Cloud Gateways family brings these tasks together in a 19" 1U rack-mount enclosure and supports up to 7,500 users and 750 UniFi devices. UniFi OS provides the Network, Protect, Access, Talk and Connect applications in a single interface. From the same platform, an administrator can configure infrastructure, monitor recordings and manage physical security, rather than using separate consoles for each service.

Ubiquiti UDM-Beast – performance, protection and centralised management
- IDS/IPS up to 25 Gbps – traffic analysis, threat detection and prevention under heavy infrastructure loads.
- Eight 10 GbE RJ45 ports and two 25G SFP28 ports – high-speed access and backbone connections, with flexible WAN and LAN link allocation.
- Shadow Mode (VRRP) – failover to a second unit of the same model.
- SD-WAN with no additional licence fees – supports connections between branch offices and remote access via VPN.
- Two 3.5-inch HDD bays with RAID support – expand video recorder storage; drives must be purchased separately.
- Eight-core ARM processor and 16 GB of memory – resources for running applications and infrastructure services simultaneously.
Network protection with IDS/IPS up to 25 Gbps and DPI analysis
Traffic control is provided by a stateful firewall and an application-aware Layer 7 firewall, complemented by DPI identification. Administrators can create zone-based rules and filter connections by region, domain and application. Built-in content filtering and ad blocking help enforce company internet access policies. IDS/IPS throughput of up to 25 Gbps enables the intrusion detection and prevention system to be used in demanding deployments. Access to 55,000 IDS/IPS signatures requires the purchase of CyberSecure — this add-on is not included in the licence-free SD-WAN functionality.

10 GbE, SFP+ and SFP28 ports – WAN and LAN connections up to 25G
The device supports connections across copper and fibre-optic infrastructure. It offers eight 10 GbE RJ45 ports operating at 100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10G, two 1 GbE RJ45 ports and two 1/10 Gbps SFP+ slots. For faster backbone connections, it has two 1/10/25 Gbps SFP28 slots. Up to eight ports can be used as WAN ports; by default, one 25G SFP28 port and one 10G Ethernet port are assigned to this role. LACP aggregation allows ports to be combined into groups to match the configuration of the rest of the infrastructure.

Shadow Mode and Multi-WAN – gateway and link redundancy
In installations where uptime is essential, a second unit can be used in Shadow Mode (VRRP) to take over the gateway role during failover. Independently of hardware redundancy, a DC input is available for connecting backup power. Multi-WAN load balancing allows traffic to be distributed across internet connections, while compatibility with UniFi LTE Backup lets you add a failover link. Internet quality reports make it easier to assess the availability and status of individual connections.

SD-WAN and VPN – routing between branches and remote access
Integrated SD-WAN requires no additional licence fees and supports organisations operating across multiple locations. Connections between networks can use Site Magic, IPsec and OpenVPN. Remote access is supported by WireGuard, Teleport Zero-Configuration VPN and Identity Endpoint One-Click VPN, among others; OpenVPN and L2TP server features, as well as OpenVPN and WireGuard client features, are also available. Policy-based WAN and VPN routing allows traffic to be directed according to deployment requirements, while OSPF and BGP provide dynamic routing. RADIUS and RadSec services, configurable DHCP, IPv6 support, advanced QoS and NAT complete the central management tools.

UniFi Protect monitoring – recorder for HD, 2K and 4K cameras
The platform combines infrastructure administration with video surveillance. The UniFi Protect application can manage deployments of up to 100 HD cameras, 60 2K cameras or 40 4K cameras, depending on resolution. Two 3.5-inch HDD bays allow NVR capacity to be expanded with RAID data protection; drives must be purchased separately. The built-in 128 GB SSD is used, among other things, to store NVR detection recordings. Recordings and video system status are available in the same management environment as the other services.
2.1 GHz ARM processor and 16 GB of memory in a 1U rack enclosure
The platform is built around an eight-core 2.1 GHz ARM processor with 16 GB of system memory, designed to run multiple applications and services simultaneously. The aluminium and SGCC steel enclosure occupies 1U in a 19" rack and measures 442.4 × 43.7 × 325 mm, so its depth can be taken into account when planning installation. The 1.3-inch LCM touchscreen allows local status monitoring, while Ethernet and Bluetooth are used for configuration and administration. Maximum power consumption is 100 W, and the operating temperature range is 0 to 40°C.
