The design allows the cable to be laid directly in the ground or in external conduit.
Protection of the signal against interference
The F/UTP architecture includes aluminium foil shielding together with a dedicated grounding conductor. Such shielding effectively suppresses external electromagnetic interference (EMI) and eliminates crosstalk between individual wire pairs.
