Xiaomi Sound Play 18W – music that suits every occasion
Xiaomi Sound Play 18W is a portable Bluetooth speaker designed for everyday music listening at home, on the terrace, during get-togethers with friends and outdoors. The rated power of 18 W means the device works well both for relaxed background listening and for more energetic playlists. The slim casing, colour variants and striking lighting help create a pleasant atmosphere without the need for additional accessories. It is an option for people who want equipment that is easy to carry, convenient to use and suited to many usage scenarios.
18 W sound with a design supported by passive radiators
The speaker uses a full-range racetrack-type driver and an external and internal passive radiator, which helps deliver fuller sound in a compact casing. The 75 Hz–20 kHz frequency range lets you comfortably listen to various music genres, from podcasts and light playlists to more dynamic tracks with clear bass. A signal-to-noise ratio of at least 95 dB ensures cleaner sound reproduction, so the speaker is suitable for use while working at a desk, cooking, relaxing in the living room or meeting outdoors. Xiaomi Sound Play 18W combines a portable format with enough power for everyday sound in the spaces you use most often.
Bluetooth 6.0 and convenient cable-free connection
Xiaomi Sound Play 18W uses Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, which enables quick pairing with a phone, tablet or other compatible device. The declared transmission range is up to 25 metres, so the speaker can stand on a table, shelf, picnic blanket or by a workstation, while the music source remains within reach. The built-in microphone allows hands-free calls, which is useful when the phone is lying nearby or when the user wants to answer a call without interrupting what they are doing. It is a practical solution for remote work, relaxation, short trips and everyday home situations.
Striking lighting synchronised with the beat
The Sound Play 18W model stands out not only for its sound, but also for its lighting, which helps build the atmosphere while listening to music. The top light with an infinity mirror effect resembles a light tunnel, and the lower light ring can operate in ripple, beat and constant light modes. As a result, the speaker looks good both during an evening gathering and while listening to music quietly in a room. Beat-synchronised lighting adds character to the device and makes it part of the room’s décor.
Portable design for trips, walks and outdoor meet-ups
The casing, measuring 63.4 × 69.5 × 201.1 mm and weighing around 415 g, makes the speaker easy to take outside the home. A soft rubber strap makes it easy to carry, attach to a backpack or place the device wherever it is needed. The IP68 protection class according to the manufacturer’s data helps protect the device against dust and water under specified test conditions, so the speaker is well suited to use on a terrace, at a campsite or on a picnic. However, it is worth remembering that this is not a professional waterproof speaker and it should not be used or charged underwater or in a damp environment.
Up to around 14 hours of playback on a single charge
The built-in 3.7 V / 2600 mAh lithium-ion battery allows music playback for up to around 14 hours on a full charge, according to the manufacturer’s measurement at 40% volume with the lighting turned off. Such battery life is useful during the day when the speaker accompanies the user while working, studying, cooking, relaxing or meeting loved ones. 5 V / 2 A charging lets you conveniently top up the battery after listening, and the lack of a constant need to be plugged into a socket increases placement flexibility. Actual battery life may depend on the volume level, lighting mode, audio source and how the device is used.
TWS and Auracast for greater playback flexibility
Xiaomi Sound Play 18W supports TWS mode, which allows two identical speakers to be paired into a stereo set with left and right channels. This feature is useful when the user wants a wider soundstage while listening to music in the living room, at a party or in a larger space. The speaker also supports Auracast, a solution that allows multiple compatible Xiaomi devices supporting this technology to be connected, up to a maximum of 100 units according to the manufacturer’s data. Thanks to this, Sound Play 18W can become part of a larger audio setup with synchronised sound and light.
Four colours and a style that is easy to match to your surroundings
The speaker is available in black, white, purple and green, allowing you to choose a version that suits your style, interior or way of use. The minimalist shape, soft casing lines and light accents make the device look good on a desk, sideboard, coffee table, by a tent or on a picnic blanket. The set includes the Xiaomi Sound Play speaker, a charging cable and a user manual, so the user receives all the basic items needed to start using the device. It is a compact Bluetooth speaker for people who expect a combination of portability, pleasant sound, striking looks and simple operation.
